The People's Action Party has always strived to provide affordable and accessible housing for Singaporeans ([link removed]) since the beginning. We understand Singaporeans' concerns on this issue and have been pushing for change in the policies and programmes to meet their diverse needs and fulfil their aspirations of home ownership.

Summing up a marathon two-day debate on the motions on public housing policies, Minister for National Development Desmond Lee ([link removed]) stressed that a responsible government does not make housing affordable by robbing future generations ([link removed]) .

He also called out the Opposition's flip-flop on its position ([link removed]) regarding the supply of BTO flats, warning of the dangers of oversupply with homeowners than having to pay a heavy price.

The PAP Government iscommitted to keeping public housing affordable and accessible while protecting the interests of current and future generations of Singapore ([link removed]) , he reiterated.

“We must maintain housing accessibility and affordability while keeping sustainability in mind, and uphold a culture of politics where we discuss hard truths and trade-offs in a transparent manner, even if these may not be popular.”

SMS Sim Ann ([link removed]) said that PSP’s housing plan does not solve any problems ([link removed] ) . She also refuted PSP's argument that flat buyers have inadequate savings for their retirement as they use their CPF savings to service their loans ([link removed]) .

We are committed to building a clean and green Singapore ([link removed]) . To improve our environmental and public health standards, Parliament passed a bill ([link removed]) to address high-rise littering, seek progressive wages for waste management sector, and stricter licensing rules for cleaning firms.

Ministers Indranee Rajah and Mrs Josephine Teo separately addressed our MPs' questions on the Keppel Offshore & Marine (KOM) ([link removed]) and SPH Media Trust cases ([link removed]) . The PAP Government does not condone corruption and will remain accountable and transparent.
