John,
Since the anti-choice extremists on the Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade and ended the federal right to abortion care last year, our reproductive rights are in the hands of the states.
We want to talk to you about the current legal status of abortion in three different deep purple states across the country -- and why our community's work electing Democratic pro-choice women is more important than ever looking ahead to elections in 2023 and 2024.
But first, will you directly support EMILYs List today so we can expand our recruiting, training, and resources for our incredible endorsed candidates without missing a beat?

MICHIGAN: In the 2022 elections, voters enshrined abortion rights in the state constitution, reelected pro-choice fighter Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, AND gained Democratic majorities in the state legislature.
2024: Despite this extraordinary expansion of abortion rights in Michigan, the state will remain extremely competitive and expensive for statewide candidates in '24. With the retirement of Sen. Debbie Stabenow -- a proud EMILYs List-backed trailblazer! -- we absolutely MUST keep this seat blue and prevent the Senate GOP from gaining another vote for a national abortion ban.
VIRGINIA: Abortion is protected, but the state legislature is divided right now and anti-choice Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) has vowed to sign an abortion ban as soon as possible.
2023: Pro-choice Democrats have to defend their state Senate majority and flip the House of Delegates in critical elections this November. And we haven't been waiting, John: EMILYs List was thrilled to endorse and help elect Del. Holly Seibold (VA-HD34) in a special election last month, holding a key blue seat!
WISCONSIN: Abortion is banned statewide, except to save the life of the parent. Abortion care became illegal after Roe was struck down.
2023: EMILYs List is proud to back pro-choice champions for state and local office right now in Wisconsin -- and each can make a huge difference for abortion rights. We're 100% behind steadfast leaders like Jodi Habush Sinykin (SD-08) for state Senate and Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway of Madison in her reelection bid. And these Wisconsin elections are less than TWO weeks away!
John, with our fundamental reproductive rights in the hands of the states, we have to work year-round to build LASTING POWER at the statewide and local levels, and EMILYs List and our endorsed candidates can and will make it happen -- with your help.
Donate now to fuel our mission in 2023 & 2024:
