Over the last year, you may remember hearing Jorge’s story and our community’s fight to win his release from detention. He was taken from his loved ones in New York and detained for over a year in ICE detention in Florida. While detained, he was assaulted & harassed because of his queer identity and suffered inhumane conditions.
With the power of his community behind him & support of activists across the country, he was finally released and reunited with his family last fall. 🧡Recently, I got the opportunity to catch up with Jorge in New York.
