After President Biden boxed Republicans into showing their support for our Social Security system at the State of the Union, they have been on damage control. Medicare fraudster-turned-Senator¹ Rick Scott has been on a media blitz denying the plain truth about his plan, which even Mitch McConnell said would “sunset Social Security and Medicare.”²

But after their high-profile show of unity, Republicans are still attacking our earned benefits. Just this morning, Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson attacked Social Security as a “Ponzi scheme.”³ Senator Johnson has gone further than Senator Scott — his plan would let Social Security and Medicare expire at the end of every year.
