John, people who have power are obsessed with keeping it. The more they are threatened, the more aggressively they lash out.
Just like Kevin McCarthy and the man liking his tweet, Elon Musk:
They hate the scrutiny. They would rather go about their business in the dark — where basic principles like oversight and accountability, in government and business, wither and die.
Well I won’t let Kevin McCarthy stop me from doing my job, or let billionaires like Donald Trump and Elon Musk get a pass.
Our democracy is at risk because people like McCarthy have forgotten what their oath of office means. Others like Trump never cared about any oath or fealty to the Constitution. And Elon Musk seems all too intoxicated by the power of his wealth to remember that it was his workforce and the opportunities this country provides that made it possible.
