Kevin McCarthy and the far-right fringes of his caucus voted on extreme abortion restrictions in the very first days of the new Congress. Now, the GOP has passed a resolution to encourage legislators to support and pass a 6-week abortion ban – mind you, most home pregnancy tests show a positive result within the 5th week of pregnancy, leaving most women unable to receive treatment if the GOP has their way. The GOP has shown us time and again that reproductive rights are in their crosshairs.
John: I will not back down from the fight to protect reproductive healthcare, no matter the party in leadership. Reproductive healthcare decisions and the rights of women and families should not be up for debate by Republican lawmakers.
