Gerald began his career with the USPS in 2012 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, as a mail carrier. When the USPS started delivering on Sundays for Amazon, Gerald asked for and was granted a religious accommodation.
Grateful for the accommodation, Gerald picked up additional shifts during the week, often working double-shifts. He even accepted a demotion to a lower position.
However, several years later, the post office changed its position. They took away Gerald’s accommodation and began scheduling him to work on Sundays—forcing him to choose between his job and his faith.
No employee should ever have to make that choice. With your support, we can achieve victory so everyone can keep their First Freedom while at work.
This case could create a huge precedent for religious freedom in the workplace—affecting you, your children, grandchildren and all future generations.
A victory for the Faithful Carrier could positively impact millions who hold religious beliefs that can be reasonably accommodated in the workplace.
As Gerald heads to the Supreme Court in April, will you join First Liberty in defending this Faithful Carrier?
