“We are the United States of America and there is nothing, nothing beyond our capacity if we do it together.”
John,
This week, I attended President Biden’s State of the Union address. Here’s what I heard:
I heard President Biden’s assessment that our union — because of its people and soul — is strong .
I also heard President Biden’s vision for America. An America where our economy works for everyone. An America where prescription drugs are affordable. An America where public schools are funded and teachers are paid what they deserve. An America where mental health and substance abuse crises are addressed. An America where people have full rights over their own bodies, to be their authentic selves, and to love.
But I also heard — by way of yells, boos, and even a shout of “Liar!” — a very different vision of America from some of my Republican colleagues. An America where rich people get richer, Big Pharma gets stronger, unions get weaker, our democracy becomes more vulnerable, and so much more.

We saw Republicans disgrace and disrespect the President, dismiss attempts to reach across the aisle, and work to advance their extremist agenda.
But like President Biden said, “We are the United States of America and there is nothing, nothing beyond our capacity if we do it together.”
I’ll work with whoever I can to make progress for Vermonters and for our country, and I won’t let those deadset on division and right-wing extremism derail our nation.
I’m doing my part in the House to make our vision for America a reality. Will you join me in this fight for a better, stronger America by making a contribution of any amount to support my work in Congress? [[link removed]]
