John,
Today we honor Dr. King’s legacy, which has greatly outlasted his life on Earth.
We honor a man who challenged, and changed, the soul of this country.
We honor a man who called us to better things and appealed to our highest angels.
As Dr. King said: Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?’
Later this morning, I’m honored to be speaking at the Catawba County Branch NAACP’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration in Newton, North Carolina, where I grew up.
Today, let’s all commit ourselves to affirming that we’re serving our families, communities, and state in the spirit of Dr. King.
In service,
Chaz
