The U.S. has no federal law guaranteeing paid family and medical leave to workers – and currently, only 20% of private employees are covered by a paid leave policy.

This forces the majority of American workers to choose between caring for their families and making ends meet.

It’s time to end this antiquated system once and for all. That’s why Sean’s at the forefront of the fight to guarantee paid family leave to all workers.

Universal paid family leave isn’t just the right thing to do for people; it’s the right thing for our economy. Working families with access to paid leave are more economically secure, less likely to need government benefits, and more likely to remain in the labor force.

But Sean and fellow Democrats in Washington are facing an uphill battle. Republicans will do anything they can to block this popular, common-sense policy while they continue to slash protections for workers and families.
