Congressman LaHood had a great night in Dixon with the Lee County Republicans for their Reagan Day Dinner with State House GOP Leader Tony McCombie and Lee County GOP Chair Brett Nicklaus. 

As House Republicans work to fulfill our promises to the American people, I am proud to be appointed to serve on the Select Committee on China by Speaker McCarthy. The Chinese Communist Party poses generational challenges that Congress must address. I will work on this Committee to counter the CCP’s malign influence and strengthen American competitiveness around the globe.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

I am honored to serve you as the new Congressman for the 16th District of Illinois. During my time in Congress, I have been proud to stand up for our Midwest conservative values, fighting for lower taxes, supporting law enforcement, backing Illinois farmers, standing up to China, and advocating for parents’ rights. Americans sent a Republican majority to Congress to place a check on the Biden Administration, reduce inflation, curb violent crime, and secure the border. As this Congress begins, I will continue to keep regularly updated on how I am working to serve our district and the accomplishments of House Republicans in 2023.
