Dear John, On November 15, 2022, Shell announced its plastics plant in Beaver County, PA as officially operational. This plant, located in picturesque Beaver County, is the largest plastics production facility in the Northeast U.S. — and Shell’s largest petrochemical facility outside of the Gulf Coast. The state cited it for emissions violations in its very first month. Shell promised to be a good neighbor. But the community has dealt with disruptive light pollution, loud noises, terrible smells, and excessive flaring almost every week.
