Extreme Republicans have threatened to crash our economy by refusing to let the government pay our bills unless we agree to painful cuts to critical social safety net programs like Medicare and Social Security.

But those aren't the only threats they made about the debt ceiling. Republican Congressman Chip Roy is now threatening to cause a debt ceiling disaster unless Democrats agree to push his xenophobic border plan through the House.
