This is a long email. But it’s important. And I hope you’ll read all of it.

Last night I had the profound privilege of attending President Biden’s State of the Union at the U.S. Capitol.

The President’s address was a call to action and in just a moment, I’m going to ask you to take an action: to make a contribution to help us continue our fight for working families. But before I do, I want to tell you why your contribution matters.

Last night, the President called on Congress to pass laws that will make our communities healthier and safer. We know the MAGA Republicans in Congress won’t act. Marjorie Taylor Greene and her GOP colleagues would rather heckle the President than deliver results for the American people.

Congress won’t act. But, friend,, I will.

President Biden called on Congress to ban the sale of assault weapons. In California, we did that over 30 years ago — and now I’m defending the law against the gun lobby in court.

President Biden called on Congress to pass the George Floyd Act to build trust between police and our communities. In California, I wrote legislation doing just that — and now I’m implementing it as Attorney General.

President Biden called on Congress to protect reproductive freedom. In California, I’m going to court to defend your right to an abortion and implementing new efforts to strengthen access to reproductive care.

On every issue, from holding Big Oil accountable to tackling the fentanyl crisis, California is leading the way while Republicans in Congress fail to act. But I can’t do it alone. And that’s why I’m asking for your support today:
