"Democracy must not be a partisan issue. It must be an American issue."

No, that isn't a quote from a RepresentUs email. That's the President of
the United States addressing threats to democracy on the national stage in
last night’s State of the Union speech.

Thousands of RepresentUs activists signed our petition pushing President
Biden to address threats to democracy last night. The fact that he did
shows us very clearly that our movement has momentum right now.

What we do with it is up to us.

In order to make meaningful progress on anything important to the American
people, we must first address corruption and threats to democracy.

We know that often the best ideas – regardless of what party they come
from -- get stalled because of special interest campaign contributions,
gerrymandering, and power-hungry politicians who will do just about
anything to keep themselves in office.

That's why our movement works state by state, city by city to fight
corruption in politics and promote common-sense fixes that give voters
better choices and more power.

Last night our message was delivered at the highest level: "With
democracy, everything is possible. Without it, nothing is."

That's what we fight for.
