John, it’s Sarah Godlewski. I’m Wisconsin’s former State Treasurer and the founder of Women Win Wisconsin.
Less than a year ago, a large portion of our country was stripped of our bodily autonomy by a Supreme Court that is more concerned with ideology than the will of the people.
Here in Wisconsin, the Dobbs decision restored a near-total abortion ban law from 1849. Clinics across our state were forced to suspend reproductive healthcare services and doctors scrambled to figure out how to provide life-saving procedures without risking a felony.
I will never stop fighting to elect pro-choice women, overturn criminal abortion bans and once again ensure that all people have access to care and the privacy to pursue it – that's why I started Women Win Wisconsin.
Women Win Wisconsin’s goal is simple: restore and protect reproductive freedom by electing pro-choice Democratic women to key seats statewide.

This spring, there are two critical elections that have the power to change abortion access in Wisconsin for the better.
1️⃣ Women Win Wisconsin is supporting pro-choice Democrat Jodi Habush Sinykin to flip the recently-vacated 8th Senate District seat blue. Jodi is a born-and-raised Wisconsinite, environmental lawyer, mom, and small business owner with proven experience advocating for what’s right. If she wins in April, WI Republicans lose their Senate supermajority and Gov. Evers will retain the power to veto GOP anti-abortion bills.
2️⃣ Women Win Wisconsin is also working hard to make sure an anti-choice extremist isn’t elected to the ten-year swing seat on our Supreme Court. The justice that wins in April will be the deciding vote on abortion access, fair maps, and voting rights cases that come before the court.
Republicans have sent Wisconsin women back to 1849 and they intend to keep us there.
I believe that people deserve the freedom and right to make their own personal health care decisions about abortion without political interference – and that I’m not alone in standing up for our fundamental rights.

With the future of our democracy and reproductive freedom at stake, former Wisconsin State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski launched an initiative building on the power of pro-choice women.
The fall of Roe v. Wade reinstated Wisconsin’s cruel abortion ban from 1849 that provides no exceptions for rape or incest and could jail or fine doctors. But we know the right-wing won’t stop there. Governor Evers has already vetoed nine anti-abortion bills that passed the GOP-controlled legislature, and when he called for a special special to repeal the 1849 law, Republicans gaveled in and out in less than a minute.
At Women Win Wisconsin, we believe the key to stopping the GOP is to activate the overwhelming majority of voters who support reproductive freedom. A recent Marquette University Law School poll showed 80% of Wisconsin voters are concerned with the change in abortion policy now that abortion is illegal in the state. These voters can make the difference in Wisconsin races that are often decided by only a few hundred votes.
Women Win Wisconsin will make sure pro-choice voters know exactly who’s going to fight for their reproductive rights and freedoms. We back pro-choice women running in Wisconsin’s most competitive races, and we’re excited to support Democratic victories up and down the ballot.
There are critical spring elections on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 and Tuesday, April 4, 2023.
