PA PAC Congratulates Judge Shamika Rhinehart



The Durham People’s Alliance extends its deep and heartfelt congratulations to Judge Shamieka Rhinehart upon her appointment by Governor Roy Cooper as a Durham Superior Court Judge. Judge Rhinehart has served for over six years as a District Court Judge, and has been a huge contributor to the cause of progressive justice in our dear city. The People’s Alliance has endorsed Judge Rhinehart for both of her runs for office, and we are extremely excited to see her ascend to higher office. We thank Governor Cooper for listening to the people of Durham's choice in past elections, and for seeing their vision of a progressive and forward looking politics. We have full confidence that Judge Rhinehart will continue her incredible work in her new office.



Ahead of our planned endorsement meeting this evening, an interview committee consisting of People’s Alliance members met with all candidates seeking the appointment. They were particularly impressed with Judge Rhinehart’s experience and overwhelmingly decided to recommend her endorsement for the appointment at this evening’s endorsement meeting for the general body’s approval. Based on the timing of the appointment announcement by Governor Cooper, we will be canceling this evening’s planned meeting.
