House Democrats recently introduced H.B. 51 — which would finally grant D.C. statehood and give an equal voice to the people living there.
dcist: Proponents of statehood argue that D.C. residents deserve the same representation as other U.S. citizens because they fulfill other responsibilities like paying federal taxes, doing jury duty, and serving in the military.
D.C. Statehood is long overdue, John. We need 10,000 signatures on our petition calling for the House to pass H.B. 51 and finally give D.C. residents fair representation. Will you add your name to the petition?
