Dear Neighbor,

Lower costs. Better-paying jobs. Healthier communities. 
 
Last night’s State of the Union Address showed the American people that Democrats are focused on making life better for working people and families. 
 
And that starts with protecting Medicare and Social Security. 
 
Cuts to these programs would be devastating for people like Cindy Mundell, my honored guest at the State of the Union. Cindy is a retired cardiac ICU nurse from Naperville who has served her community for decades. She deserves to retire with dignity.

As Cindy told me, “I earned my retirement. It’s unconscionable to me that Republicans are working to take that away, but I am so thankful to you and President Biden for your work to protect it.” 
 
I’m committed to protecting these programs that hardworking Americans like Cindy count on. 
 
Democrats deliver. Democrats defend. For people like Cindy, and for people all across our communities.
