Friends —
At last night’s State of the Union address, I proudly wore my Planned Parenthood ‘abortion’ pin as a symbol of my commitment to fighting for reproductive justice and to affirm that abortion care is health care.
Well, Fox News didn’t like that very much. After the speech was over, proven liar and far-right extremist Laura Ingraham got on air to say that my decision to wear the pin was “sick” and “depressing.” That’s not all — GOP Rep. Jim Jordan’s Judiciary Committee said my pin was “disgusting.” Right-wing pundit and conspiracy theorist Ben Shapiro called it “vile.”
Friends, I’ll tell you what’s actually disgusting and vile: Republicans who will stop at nothing to control the bodies of pregnant people. An extremist, stolen Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade. Tens of millions of people without access to the essential health care they need, including abortion care.
It’s disgusting and vile that members of Congress, state legislatures, and city councils across the country think they know best about your body — and are now trying to force their will onto millions of Americans who deserve the right to make their own health care decisions.
It’s absolutely disgusting and vile that even victims of rape and incest are denied their right to an abortion and are forced to carry a pregnancy to term under the extreme restrictions put in place by Republicans.
So I don’t care what the anti-choice, misogynistic crowd has to say. I wore my pin last night because we need to protect abortion rights now. Because the fight for reproductive freedom needs to remain front and center in our progressive movement. If you agree, now is a crucial time to show your support.
Help us counter Fox News and their anti-choice, fear-mongering hate by making a contribution of whatever you can afford today. We need you to power our movement as we work to create a country where abortion is accessible in every state and every community. [[link removed]]

We are on the right side of history here, and if we keep up the fight together, I'm certain we can restore the right to abortion for all Americans.
