Recently, we asked you to reach out to Texas Speaker of the House to ask him to NOT appoint a leftist Democrat Chair to the House Public Education Committee, like former Public Education Chairman Harold Dutton(D). The assignments have been made, and we're pleased to report that a Republican has been appointed as chairman, Rep. Brad Buckley.

This year, as in past years, the House Public Education Committee will play a key role in the passage of priority legislation to Texas Values Action including parental rights and empowerment legislation, protecting students from explicit materials in schools and school libraries, banning the sexualization of public school students in instructional materials, and school choice legislation.
