Two weeks from tomorrow night, we should know who won the Iowa Caucus.

And with time running out before that big night, and before an FEC fundraising deadline, I am about to ask you to make a contribution to our campaign. Please give me a chance to explain why this request is so important.

Here is the truth:

This campaign is not funded by fancy high-dollar fundraising events. We don’t have a super PAC. There’s no group of rich people ready to dump a ton of money into our campaign in these final weeks.

Instead, this campaign has received a record number of small-dollar donations — most coming in response to emails like this one.

So when you see us rising in the polls. When you see us on the air in your state. And when you see us win in Iowa, it is the response to emails like that make it possible. Without it, we’d be cooked.

So with the clock ticking toward our FEC deadline and toward the Iowa Caucus, we have to ask:

Can you make a contribution to our campaign before our FEC fundraising deadline comes to a close? We would not ask if it were not so terribly important.

Just imagine: you’re watching the results from Iowa and Bernie Sanders’ face flashes across the screen with the green checkmark as he’s declared the winner.

When that happens, in real life, please know that it’s the donation you made tonight that made it possible.

All my best,

Faiz Shakir
Campaign Manager
