John,
We finished 2019 with some exciting fundraising numbers, and we’re already seeing the results!
So far this month, our campaign has been featured on national platforms including the Status Coup podcast and the Jimmy Dore show, and in local media like Curbed SF and 48 Hills.
I was humbled to receive this endorsement from San Francisco-based writer Allie Pape in the Curbed SF piece “Can San Francisco be saved?”:
Real change means unionizing your office and setting an example for other cities’ workers. It means attending byzantine community meetings to speak up for more affordable housing for those who have nothing. It means giving your money and time to the only two presidential candidates who will do what needs to be done to finance a fair society: Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. It means dropping Nancy Pelosi, our sole federal representative, who has proven she is not answerable to this crisis. Her 2020 opponent, Shahid Buttar, deserves the chance to fight for something new for us.
Our path to victory involves talking to everyday San Franciscans about the issues that they’re facing. Chip in $15 today to keep this outreach going!
Still from our feature on the Status Coup podcast.
At the national level, I enjoyed talking to Jimmy Dore about impeachment, war, and the corporate takeover of the Democratic Party last week. This year we have a chance to flip the script, change Congress, and expand “the squad.”
The uptake in coverage this month is a great sign that the press is taking our campaign seriously. Our fundraising numbers are an important indication to media that we're running a serious campaign, and we can win this thing.
The more money we raise, the more coverage we earn! Can you donate $15 now to help spread out message?
