Last night, President Biden gave his second State of the Union address of
his presidency.

I was honored to attend with Nila Payton, a hospital worker at the
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and an OG badass in the Pittsburgh
labor movement who started organizing after she was forced to go into
medical debt to her own employer.

President Biden is right: We must create an economy that works for
everyone — and we won't let Republicans slash Social Security and
Medicare. But here's what I know — we must go further.

[ [link removed] ]I'm committed to pushing President Biden and my colleagues in Congress
to enact the bold, progressive change we need to advance our fight for
racial, economic, and environmental justice. If you're with me, will you

If we're going to address the urgent crises our communities are facing,
the status quo is not going to cut it.

If we're going to tackle the climate crisis, we need a Green New Deal.

If we're going to protect workers, we need to fight for every worker's
right to join a union and hold corporations accountable.

If we're going to save lives, we must pass Medicare for All, make abortion
legal and accessible for all, and tackle racial inequities in our
healthcare system.

If we're going to end the white supremacy that has poisoned our nation, we
must pass reparations, repeal racist voter suppression laws, stop
gerrymandering, abolish the death penalty, end the school-to-prison
pipeline, and eliminate police violence.

If we're going to advance our democracy, we need to get dark money and
corporate greed out of politics.
