In a moment I’m going to ask you to chip in to my campaign – but first I’d like to talk about President Biden’s State of the Union address, where we’ve been, and where we’re going as a country.
It’s been a historic two years under President Biden, and we’ve made a lot of progress for our country.
We passed the American Rescue Plan and our bipartisan infrastructure bill to support working families and small businesses and prime the economy for long-term growth. We got the Respect for Marriage Act through the Senate and signed into law, guaranteeing every American the freedom to marry the one they love.
We passed the Inflation Reduction Act – a bill that I helped shape, and the most significant action on climate in history (low bar, unfortunately, so more to do) – investing in a clean energy future, lowering emissions, and decreasing energy costs for families.
None of this would have been possible without the grassroots movement that showed up to elect President Biden and to beat the odds in the midterms last November – and with Republicans in control of the House, it is more important than ever that we not let up now. We’ve made a lot of progress these past two years, but there’s plenty more to be done. As President Biden said last night, Big Oil’s price gouging of working families is an outrage. Far too many hardworking Americans are just scraping by to make ends meet and Republicans in Congress continue doing the bidding of billionaires, in large part because of their dark money influence polluting our politics.

I’m fighting to lower costs for families, make health care more affordable, lead the planet to safety with more aggressive climate policies, put people above corporations, and get big anonymous money out of our political system.
