By preserving that story and sharing it with the public, we can cultivate a stronger understanding of our nation’s history and generate economic growth here at home.

From the Edmund Pettus Bridge to the 16th St. Baptist Church – Terri Sewell has led the fight to bring federal preservation efforts and investment home to Alabama.

Now, President Biden has signed Terri’s bill to preserve Alabama’s Black Belt as a National Heritage Area!

This is huge – not only for Alabama, but for our country as we preserve the birthplace of our Civil Rights and Voting Rights movements. These sites and communities will now have access to federal resources for historic preservation, economic development, and tourism.
