Something historic happened tonight at the State of the Union. 

As the President addressed the crisis of violence in our country, he spoke about the urgency to fund community violence interventions to can prevent gun violence in our communities.  

Then something new happened…

For the first time, we witnessed Democrats AND Republicans rise to give a standing ovation for funding community violence intervention and other proactive community focused proactive strategies. 

We did that.  All of your support and hard work to elevate community focused strategies helped move things forward tonight.  

In Washington, President Biden continues to make good on his promise to address the gun violence epidemic in America with the all-of-government approach this urgent public health crisis demands. Tonight, President Biden celebrated these historic strides and made clear to Congress and the American people that we must finish the job by building on the initial investment and pushing forward towards the billions needed to significantly save lives.

A broad and bipartisan coalition of Americans want to see action taken to keep our kids and communities safe. We look forward to working alongside the Biden Administration and Congress to build consensus across party lines and continue to invest in common-sense solutions that will prevent gun violence and save lives.
