President Biden ran for office for three main reasons: to rebuild the backbone of the country, unite Americans, and restore the soul of the nation. And after tonight’s State of the Union Address, I’m so grateful to have a Democratic President who works tirelessly to uphold those promises.

When President Biden took office two years ago, our nation was in a state of crisis. But today, thanks to the leadership of the Biden-Harris Administration, jobs and wages are up, a record number of Americans are getting back to work, unemployment is at 50-year lows, the national deficit is down, and -- thanks to the Administration’s strong economic actions in partnership with our Texas Democrats in the House -- inflation is finally loosening its grip on working Texas families.

Let me tell you: Texans are feeling the Biden Boom. From putting Texans back to work, to fixing our crumbling infrastructure, to enacting policies that will benefit countless hard-working Texans -- like capping the price of insulin that Texas seniors have to pay out-of-pocket every month -- the Biden-Harris Administration continues to fight for everyday Texans.

It’s disheartening that House Republicans have signaled they will only work to obstruct Democrats’ forward-moving agenda -- pushing instead their 30% national sales tax, devastating cuts to Medicare and Social Security, and sham investigations.
