John, we made history. Today, Pennsylvania’s school funding system was declared unjust and unconstitutional.
This ruling is the result of decades of struggle by a coalition of people who never stopped believing in our kids or our schools. Before I ever got into electoral politics, this was what drove me from my first days as a teacher to my City Council career and now to my race for Mayor. It was a fight that took on some of the most powerful forces in the nation, and it was a fight that unified our city.
Please add your name if you agree with the Court’s decision and that our children should have a right to the adequately funded schools they deserve. [[link removed]]

The Court ruling vindicates what Philadelphians have known all along. I knew it as a teacher 30 years ago, as a mom with three children in the system, as an organizer and leader on education justice, and as a Councilmember who helped end a state takeover of our schools and restored nurses, counselors, clean water, and a mission to invest in our kids’ futures.
It was what drove me into politics, because I know a city’s future was only as strong as our schools.
This is just the beginning. A new generation has a chance to live a different future.
Now more than ever, we need a Mayor with a vision for how our schools can remake our city and fulfill the dreams of every child and parent.
Every child has the right to a fairly funded education, John. Will you add your name if you’re committed to making sure Helen can lead a vision for Philadelphia’s kids and its schools? [[link removed]]

Our fight for fair funding will not stop until every student in every school district in Pennsylvania has the well-resourced, well-staffed schools they rightfully deserve.
This is an incredible day. I’m so grateful for your continued support in this fight for our children’s futureJohn, .
Onward,
Helen
