Dear John,

As people in the Central Valley struggle with inflation, a border crisis that worsens by the day, record crime rates, and a school system failing our children, President Biden will offer nothing but empty rhetoric, weak leadership, and broken promises in his State of the Union address. After two years under Biden’s leadership, China and Russia have been emboldened and continue to challenge our National Security. Here at home, people are significantly worse off, and Congressman Jim Costa has done nothing to help fix that. In fact, both Biden and Costa are part of the same leadership problem.

Inflation has been surging above 5% for 21 months ([link removed]) , and Americans have lost over $9,300 ([link removed]) on average paying for the increased cost of living since Biden took office. Since 2021, real wages ([link removed]) are down, incomes ([link removed]) are down, and savings ([link removed]) are down.

Because of Biden’s open border policies, the border crisis has spiraled out of control ([link removed]) , enriching criminal cartels, drug and human traffickers, and local gangs. Fentanyl continues to pour into our Central Valley, killing our youth and exploding gang violence. Last week's execution of our local Selma Police officer by a Fresno gang member and convicted felon who used a ghost gun in the murder, or last month's massacre of six people including a teen mother and her baby by gang members, who later engaged in a gun battle with federal agents, must not be allowed to continue. Biden and Costa's soft-on-crime policies hurt every community, from the smallest town to the largest city.

We face a major growing threat to our national security from China. Just this past week, the inability of Biden’s administration to identify and shoot down a Chinese spy balloon before it passed over our country— loitering over sensitive nuclear installations, our homes, commercial infrastructure, government buildings, and military facilities— only continues to put each of our families and this nation at greater risk.

Americans deserve better than Joe Biden and Jim Costa's runaway inflation, surging crime, open borders, and national security weakness. What America needs – and what Republicans are offering – are common-sense policies that will help lower your cost of living, strengthen our national security resolve, and stop the fentanyl epidemic.

I support the House Republican plan to fix the failures of Democrats and the Biden administration with their Commitment to America plan.

Already they have voted to:
* Stop the Biden administration's plan to hire 87,000 IRS agents to go after hard-working Americans.
* Stand up against the Chinese Communist Party’s agenda.
* Restore individual liberty by ending the Biden administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates on certain healthcare workers and return to pre-pandemic life by ending the COVID-19 National Emergency.

The Central Valley has turned mainly to Republicans to provide a clear vision for our country. Republicans represent the new generation of leaders that will turn this country around and advocate for families, parents, workers, and small business owners.

Regardless of what Biden says tonight, the facts are clear: his policies are failing our nation, and Americans need more leaders with foundations based on integrity who will represent all the people leading them to a brighter and prosperous future.
