Our democracy faced a major setback 10 years ago this week, when the Supreme Court ruled in Citizens United vs. FEC that corporations and billionaires can spend unlimited money in an attempt to sway elections.

We’ve seen the ramifications of this decision play out in real-time over the past decade. The costs to run a campaign have soared to unprecedented levels, and corporate PACs, special interest groups, and DC lobbyists have been given a secret entrance into the halls of government.

All the while, the issues that matter to working Americans -- prescription drug costs, broadband access, middle-class wages -- have taken a backseat while corporate interests set the agenda.

John-- if we want to return power to the people, we must overturn Citizens United.
