John, the House GOP held a conference this morning to discuss
how Biden's State of the Union is already a failure...even though it
hasn't happened yet.
[1]House GOP MembersThe common themes were, of course, an "open border,"
inflation, fentanyl overdoses, and equating the national debt to a credit
card. Steve Scalise of Louisiana, now the House Majority Leader, made
multiple claims that we have heard on repeat since the GOP took over a
slim majority in the House. One such claim has been the concern over
fentanyl overdoses, and resulting deaths, but ALSO the dismissal of Covid
deaths.
Scalise made it a point to both say that 300 deaths in his parish were a
tragedy, and the blame rests on Biden, but that Covid policies were
"radical" and antithetical to American freedoms. In fact, his district,
LA-01, in just ONE parish, over 1100 deaths were attributed to
Covid-19. This is not to say that one death means more than another, but
that for the House GOP, whichever loss of life is more politically
convenient is where their focus will remain.
The GOP also took this time to continue to reprimand the American people
because of the use of unemployment benefits, and again, blamed the Biden
administration and painted it as "paying people to stay home." But, they
also have railed against the funding provided to businesses and schools to
reopen them during the economic turmoil of the pandemic.

the chaos of the MAGA GOP. Can you chip in to help us secure and defend
our seats in the House?
