In states from North Carolina to Wisconsin to Pennsylvania, Republicans have used partisan redistricting to gain a disproportionate number of seats in the House of Representatives.

This practice undermines the democratic process and makes it difficult for voters to hold their elected representatives accountable.There’s no reason why the interests of a small minority of the population should be given greater weight than the needs and opinions of the majority.

It often leads to more gridlock as Congress becomes unable to pass meaningful legislation, even on issues that have broad public support, because a small partisan minority controls elections.
