Jack, the Republican game of Debt Ceiling brinksmanship just continues to be appalling.
“Failure to meet the government’s obligations would cause irreparable harm to the U.S. economy, the livelihoods of all Americans and global financial stability,” Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen warned in her letter to Congress.
And yet causing that irreparable harm remains Republicans' exact intention.
Jack, we're just going to be blunt: the GOP is willing to tank our economy over this Debt Ceiling showdown because they believe it is in their political interest.
