The Skagit County HOME Consortium is preparing the required 5-Year Consolidated Plan which will cover project years 2023-2027. The 2023-2027 Consolidated Plan will direct the use of HOME funds in Skagit, Island, and Whatcom counties during the next five years. Federal HOME funding is allowed to support housing development, rental assistance, home buyer assistance programs, and help specific local housing agencies strengthen their programs.
The process of developing the Consolidated Plan evaluates affordable housing needs and local housing market conditions; includes community-wide dialogue and stakeholder outreach to identify housing needs and priorities; and makes data-driven investment decisions. In addition to conducting local focus groups and information sessions we are making available a community survey to facilitate feedback and engagement which will inform funding priorities and future investments.
