Friend, today marks six years since we filed our lawsuit, alongside partner organizations, challenging Trump’s first Muslim Ban. This discriminatory policy not only violated the Constitution — it tore our communities apart, forcing thousands of families to be separated for years.
Despite President Biden rescinding the Muslim and African Bans in 2021, people are still suffering and families remain separated. In short, the Biden administration has more work to do to address the ongoing harms of the Bans.
In fact, just a few months ago, a federal court ruled in our case, Pars Equality Center v. Pompeo, that the Biden administration must undo the harms of the Bans and reconsider denied visa applications. Despite this court mandate, the Biden administration has yet to follow through.
We are holding the Biden administration accountable to this ruling and making sure it implements a fair, effective process for all applicants. And, friend, we need your voice in the fight.
Right now, we’re calling on the U.S. Department of State to take the following actions:
- Establish a reconsideration process for those who were denied visas under the prior Bans at no cost to the applicants, along with notifying all applicants of this process
- Provide an expedited decision to applicants who seek reconsideration within 60 days of submitting the required information
Justice has been delayed for too long. Join us in calling on the Biden administration to address the ongoing harms of the Muslim and African Bans today >>>
Our continued efforts to fight against unjust policies and fight for immigrant communities is possible because of supporters like you. Thank you for standing with us.
