Folks —

Tonight, President Joe Biden will address our nation and share a strong record of accomplishments — from the bipartisan infrastructure bill to a historically low unemployment rate.

I’m honored to have invited a State of the Union guest who works every day to lift up New Mexicans and represent our shared values as a country, Charlene Bencomo.

Charlene is the executive director of Bold Futures, a New Mexico-based organization that is building an inclusive New Mexico where women and people of color make decisions about their own bodies, families, and lives, and everyone thrives.

Bold Futures advocates for policy changes in the New Mexico state legislature, conducts critical research, and leads organizing efforts toward a better future for New Mexicans.

Charlene and the folks working with Bold Futures have helped make New Mexico a pro-choice state and a haven for people seeking abortion care from nearby states with restrictive laws.

New Mexico sets an example for how we can protect reproductive rights on the federal level.

It’s thanks to years of advocacy and organizing from groups like Bold Futures that the state legislature repealed New Mexico’s outdated abortion ban. The Respect New Mexico Women and Families Act keeps reproductive healthcare decisions in the hands of women and their doctors.

Charlene and Bold Futures are continuing to advocate for more reproductive health protections under New Mexico law, but they are counting on your support to keep up this critical work. Can you pitch in any amount to Bold Futures to fuel their efforts?

Thank you,

Martin
