John, lately I’ve been writing to you quite a bit about our clients—primarily vulnerable children—who have been lied to and manipulated by radical transgender activists in the education and medical fields.
I am so humbled and proud to represent these clients. Their courage inspires me and our entire team.
But I want to remind you that we are handling other very important cases too that perhaps don’t foster as many media headlines.
We’re fighting a crucial battle for free speech, and I wanted to make sure our very best supporters are caught up to date.
You may remember our client Joao DePina.
After his brother was murdered, he expected answers, he expected justice, and he expected leadership from his elected officials.
But that’s not what he got.
Instead, when he attempted to ask the district attorney questions, he was arrested, intimidated, and stripped of his First Amendment rights.
When our client confronted left-wing District Attorney Rachael Rollins about the mishandling of his brother’s murder at a public press conference, he never imagined he’d end up in the back of a police car for exercising his free speech.
And he never imagined he’d be threatened with up to 10 years of prison for challenging a powerful politician.
But that’s exactly what happened.
Luckily, the charges against him were dropped – but this fight isn’t over.
We’re now suing Rollins, who somehow got promoted to US Attorney.
After our suit came before the court, the first thing Rollins and her team tried to do was get it dismissed without a public trial.
So, in response, we’ve filed a motion against the dismissal and the hearing on this motion is set for March 24th in Massachusetts.
We don’t think it’s good enough that Joao DePina had the charges against him dropped, because the DA never should have charged him in the first place.
It was a clear-cut violation of his constitutional rights, an abuse of power, and we want to make sure this never happens again.
I hope you’ll stand by us in our fight for justice, and that I can continue to count on you.
