Hello John,
Every February we pause to celebrate and honor the achievements, the contributions, and the lives of Black Americans. We acknowledge the progress we’ve made as a nation because of the hard work and sacrifices of the Black community throughout history.
It is also important that we reflect on how much Black Americans across the country have had to overcome to achieve representation and how they have lifted up and enriched our communities. But there is still a long road ahead.
At a moment when our country is more divided than ever, we must recommit ourselves to the fight for justice and equality for all.
And that’s why I continue to fight in Congress to ensure every American has a voice in our democracy. To pass legislation that will implement crucial voting rights protections to ensure equitable access to the ballot box and reduce the unfair burdens on Black people and people of color.
So, our work continues – not just during Black History Month, but every day.
Thank you for being a part of this.
