Republicans in Congress refusing to stand up and clap for policies that
are hugely popular with Americans -- like affordable childcare, making
billionaires and corporations pay their fair share of taxes, and defending
democracy.

With millions of voters and thousands of reporters paying attention
online, together we'll plaster social media with the proof: Republicans
don't #StandUp for everyday people, the policies that help them, or the
issues that make their lives better.

At last year’s State of the Union, Republicans in Congress refused to
stand up so often, we just posted the "Top 10 popular things Republicans
refused to stand up for in last year’s State of the Union address" [ [link removed] ]on
Facebook and [ [link removed] ]on Twitter.

The list includes things like:

Affordable childcare: Biden said, "If you live in a major city in America
you can pay up to $14,000 in childcare per child… My plan would cut the
cost in half for most families." Dems stood and clapped. Republicans
refused. [ [link removed] ]C-SPAN CLIP

Lowering the cost of prescription drugs: Biden said, "Let’s let Medicare
negotiate the price of prescription drugs." Dems stood and clapped.
Republicans refused. [ [link removed] ]C-SPAN CLIP

Keeping taxes low for families: Biden said, "Under my plan, nobody -- let
me say this again -- nobody earning less than $400,000 a year will pay an
additional penny in new taxes. Not a single penny." [ [link removed] ]C-SPAN CLIP

This year we expect them to do it again -- but this time we'll use their
own actions to show the proof: Republicans don't #StandUp for everyday
people. Democrats do.
