They want to set up a “death panel” to cook up news ways to eviscerate Social Security and Medicare — and figure out just how much more they can take away from retirees to fund their tax breaks for the ultra rich.

Republicans have made it clear they’re willing to sacrifice our young people and seniors alike. They’re willing to let working people pay higher healthcare costs for less. And they’re doing it all to fund handouts to their donors, their corporate buddies, and their own wallets.
Their death panel would decide how they can kill critical social safety nets and steal from working people on behalf of corporations and billionaires.
While members of the GOP’s leadership continue to attack two of our nation’s cornerstone policies that provide for and protect the people, our progressive bloc has fought tirelessly to expand Social Security and guarantee quality healthcare for all. Just last year, we pushed once again to increase Social Security — which hasn’t happened in years.
Republicans are showing their true colors, and the contrast couldn’t be more stark. This is no joke, John, and I intend to fight their latest scheme tooth and nail.
