John, Joe Biden’s State of the Union address is tonight, but right now I’m grateful for all the accomplishments the President and Democrats in Congress have completed so far.
Through the power of faith and action, we made huge strides in creating a better America, despite our narrow majorities and constant pushback from Republicans.
Here are just a few things Democrats and I have accomplished for the people:
– We made historic green energy investments, addressing the ongoing climate crisis, and investing millions of dollars in job creation for families right here in Ohio and across the country.
– We took steps toward student debt cancellation, canceling more than $10,000 for 43 million former students.
– We passed the first gun violence prevention legislation in over 20 years.
– We put America back to work, with Americans enjoying the lowest unemployment rate since the moon landing in 1969.
The American people know Democrats are on their side. That's why they came out in huge numbers to defeat the GOP’s predicted red wave. When all the pundits counted us out, I kept the faith, and I know that you did too, John. Now, our faith has paid off, Democrats are going into 2023 in a great position to deliver for the people.
