John,

Tonight, President Biden will address not only myself and my colleagues in Congress but also the American people.

Although we have plenty of issues to discuss from gun violence and police reform to our economy and the war in Ukraine — we must also reflect on how much progress we have made in just the past two years.

*The unemployment rate fell to 3.4% this year. That is the lowest jobless level since May 1969.

*My Democratic colleagues and I delivered on promises to lower prescription drug prices, create new jobs, and confront climate change.

*And we passed legislation like the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the CHIPS and Science Act, to strengthen our economy and build a stronger future.

All of this, while the Senate Judiciary Committee made historic successes over the last two years , in an evenly divided Senate and Committee.

Under my leadership, the Senate confirmed 97 of President Biden’s highly qualified judicial nominees, including the first Black woman to the Supreme Court — while also advancing crucial legislation and restoring regular agency oversight.

This is just the beginning of the work we can do — chip in $5 or whatever you can now to join us in continuing this progress.
