Lifestyle of the Cross

In this month's column, Rev. Sandy Nenadal reflects on Rev. Mel and Barbara Ann West's examples of living a lifestyle of the cross. She invites us all to find ways to "exude joy in finding a place to serve Christ by meeting human needs. Where might that place be for you this Lent?" [link removed] Read more here→

Implicit Bias Course
In Missouri, we are committed to understanding our own biases. Our work in race and culture exists to help us become a place for people from diverse cultures and generations so that, ultimately, we become a Church for all God’s people. The Conference worked with the General Commission on Race and Religion to develop a customized version of their online implicit bias training for Missouri lay and clergy. The FREE course is now available to all clergy and lay leaders of the Missouri Annual Conference. Conference leaders encourage leaders to voluntarily take the course before it is a requirement for you to learn about the unconscious bias we all experience. By July 1, 2024, we hope to have every leader serving at the district and Conference level trained with this module. [link removed] Learn more here→
[link removed] Vision and Execution in a New Setting Videos
Do you ever feel stuck? Sometimes it is easy to get bogged down by day-to-day tasks of the church, and before you know it, church attendance plateaus and burnout sinks in. In this short video series, Rev. Roger Ross shares how to reset the vision for your church and get out of the funk.
[link removed] What is White Privilege
As humanity’s understanding and discussion of the concepts of race, racism and antiracism have evolved over generations, so have the words and phrases we use as we continue the work of obeying God and advancing racial justice. In this “What Is?” series, the General Commission on Religion and Race offers this compilation of concise definitions, examples, and Biblical/theological foundations to create common vocabulary for Christians as we engage in anti-racism work.
