Dear John,

If you have ever planted a seed and watched it grow, you have had the experience of seeing a transformation unfold. If you have ever planted a seed and watched it grow, you have had the experience of seeing a transformation unfold. When you give to AFSC, you help plant seeds of transformation in communities all over the world. You help people heal from the traumas of war, find help in seeking asylum, and organize to help one another meet essential needs. I see the difference our community makes each day.

Now I am asking you to make a commitment to nurture the seeds the AFSC community has helped to plant. We are looking for 125 people willing to make monthly donations to provide a reliable source of funding for peace and justice initiatives efforts throughout the year. Will you start your monthly gift by Feb. 14 and help us meet our goal? Now is an especially good time to start, because a generous donor will add $100 to your first month’s gift. [link removed]

Your commitment will make a difference in programs like our “People of the Land” initiative in New Mexico, which supports sustainable farming. When the pandemic struck in 2020, we worked with our farmer network to launch an innovative Farm-to-Foodbank project. Not only did it help 30 farms survive, but it also funneled 22,000 tons of produce to food banks and pantries to meet amplified community needs. The program became a model for others, including the State of New Mexico, which is piloting a similar effort through its Department of Agriculture.

Today AFSC’s program in New Mexico is building on the success of our state-funded Farm to School program, which has helped provide access to fresh, healthy local produce since 2015. In addition, we are connecting small, sustainable family farms with early childhood education centers. Activities like our Cherry Tomato Chomp and Great Carrot Crunch have given thousands of children and teachers fun ways to try veggies from local farms.

That’s the kind of systemic change that our Partners for Peace make possible. Community initiatives take different forms in different places, but each starts with a seed – the first steps toward a change that can make the world a better place. And each is nurtured over time by caring people like you!

Please join us as a Partner for Peace today. Monthly giving is easy and convenient, and it makes such a difference to know we can count on your support! [link removed]

In peace,
