Safer Internet Day: Together for a Safer Internet Feb. 7, 2023
Join OJJDP?s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program [ [link removed] ]?in observing?Safer Internet Day [ [link removed] ] on February 7.
This annual awareness campaign promotes Internet safety and encourages frequent and open conversations between parents and children about online threats.
The focus of this year's?Safer Internet Day?is sextortion?specifically financial sextortion?and ensuring young people know how to get help.?Financial sextortion occurs when someone obtains explicit content of a youth, then pressures the youth to send money or additional explicit content. The ICAC Task Force Program offers?videos and resources [ [link removed] ]?to help teach youth how to safely use the Internet.
