Fed survey reveals weakened loan demand, tightened standards ([link removed] )

The Federal Reserve’s January senior loan officer opinion survey (SLOOS) on bank lending practices showed demand for loans weakened across the board with banks reporting tightening standards during the fourth quarter of 2022. The quarterly survey examines changes in the standards and terms for bank loans to businesses and households, as well as demand.

The NCUA Monday issued a Letter to Credit Unions to remind institutions of the 2021 final rule related to credit union service organizations (CUSOs) that expanded the list of permissible activities and services.

Patent office invalidates 3 USAA mobile check deposit patents ([link removed] )

Litigation surrounding remote deposit capture (RDC) technology continues. The U.S. Patent Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board recently invalidated three of USAA’s patents related to mobile check deposit.
