The FCC is a crucial government body that regulates our communications infrastructure. It has been deadlocked in a 2-2 partisan split throughout Biden's term, and it is in major need of a progressive champion who will look out for the best interests of consumers. Sohn is that champion.

There's not much to say about Sohn that we haven't already said. She is a supremely qualified and prepared nominee. She has garnered support from progressive organizations, consumer watchdogs, privacy advocates, and even some industry groups. And, once confirmed, she would be the first openly LGBTQIA+ Commissioner in the history of the FCC.

Still, deep-pocketed phone, cable and broadcast industry lobbyists kept the FCC from fulfilling its mission of serving the public interest by orchestrating an intense, unprecedented smear campaign against Sohn filled with homophobic, antisemitic and underhanded attacks. Despite this disgusting, baseless campaign of hate, President Biden has nominated her for this post three times, and Sohn has once again answered the call to serve her nation and its people.
