Dear John, The Philly machine has picked their candidate for Philadelphia City Controller. Petitioning starts next week and we need to raise $20,000 to get our campaign on the ballot. Last year, someone called the police on our volunteers, and we were told daily that we were not going to make the ballot. This year is no different – we are going to have to fight every day to collect the thousands of signatures we need to make sure working people have a voice for Controller this May. So that’s what’s at stake – if we don’t raise $20,000 by petition season, we are not going to make it on the ballot. Donate $20 now ››› Donate another amount ››› We can't get on the ballot without your support. We need you to rush our campaign $20 right now to stand a chance. Our opponent is going to take money from corporations, developers and fossil fuel companies. We are running a grassroots campaign. Help us out. I need your support to do this. If we can hit our goal, we have the campaign team and tools to take us all the way. But if we don’t get on the ballot, this whole political campaign is over. This is it. Our movement needs you. She's the daughter of two teachers and a sister to a twin brother with a learning disability. Seeing the systemic obstacles her brother faced inspired Alexandra to become an advocate and challenge barriers on the basis of race, gender, class, and ability. Now, Alexandra's running to be the Philly's next City Controller because the people in Philly work too hard for too little. And right now, line items in budgets create lines for food and health care. It's time to elect a City Controller who is going to prioritize the needs of the communities Philly's money comes from. Contribute Merch Shop FOLLOW ALEXANDRA ON Alexandra M.
