Friends -
There were more mass shootings than days in 2019. According to the Gun Violence Archive, by the end of 2019 there were 417 mass shootings.
A tragic side effect of this is that it's created a dramatic demand for workplace violence insurance.
Companies are beginning to acquire "active shooter insurance" which provides monetary coverage for lawsuits, but also preventative and post-event crisis management including victim services.
The fact that active shooter insurance is an insurance option that even exists is heartbreaking.
Here is a different idea that we should consider: instead of active shooter insurance...how about Congress passes legislation that makes it harder for criminals to get their hands on guns?
So far, Congress has refused. That means that this November we will elect a Congress that will. But we cannot do it alone:
Can you make a $3 donation to Giffords PAC today? Every dollar you donate will go towards our efforts to pressure Mitch McConnell to hold a debate and vote on universal background checks in the Senate -- or to elect leaders who will.

The election is less than 10 months away.
We have the power to impact the outcome and elect leaders who will work for us and not the gun lobby. But only if we work together.
Thank you in advance for chipping in,
The team at Giffords
